Hargicourt1 Hargicourt2

On 25 September 1918 the Heavies moved forward to a position close to the quarries at Hargicourt seen here in the photograph to the left. Heavy winds and rain together with incessant shelling of a portion of the Hindenburg Line made things very hard for men and horses.

The other photograph shows the area of Hargicourt Military Cemetery with the cross of the cemetery just visible in the tall trees. Major Paris, Commanding Officer of the Battery, was buried in the cemetery on 7 October 1918.
